This is the normal practice in S'pore. For those aged 60 & above.<br /><br />Employment Act suggests 1 or 0.5 mths pay for each year of service capped at 25 mths.<br /><br />Official retirement age is 62. If follow 1 mth compensation for each year of service capped at 25 mths ... then might as well continue employment until retirement age?!?<br /><br />Hence different calculation for those older. This has been in place in Singapore for decades already & MOM is aware and doesn't disapprove. Even civil service & GLCs practice it.
