I also wrote to the newspapers, just that my letter was not published. However, I also wrote into the cpmments section of ST online forum and I should think that the relevant parties who have an onterest in the matter would have probably read those comments. Only issue is how they deem best to take it forward.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11702093.post-58204817283889500602009-08-25T09:27:20.564+08:002009-08-25T09:27:20.564+08:00LIA's argument is that policyholders get lesse...LIA's argument is that policyholders get lesser than what they paid is because the cash value has not broken even. This isn't the point. Orphaned money is money belonging to the particular policyholder which is NOT paid when he or she surrenders prematurely.Where is this money before the surrender? It is lumped in the so called 'special bonus pool' and when the policy is surrendered only a fraction of it is returned and the rest is orphaned. As the special bonus is NOT guaranteed where is the question of liability? Risk based capital(RBC) only requires what is guaranteed and the guaranteed is the liability of the company.Just like the insurers can play plum pudding with the 'special bonus' so is the orphaned money.
What smoothing crap are they talking about?
They now have to smooth their ass.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11702093.post-2884517989132339032009-08-25T09:07:28.325+08:002009-08-25T09:07:28.325+08:00I sure will join you in writing to the press if I ...I sure will join you in writing to the press if I am not bound by my employment contract from expressing my views in the press.
