Maintaining the cooperative spirit?

Dear Mr.Tan Kin Lian,
First of all, let us express our great appreciation to your various financial planning advice extended to members of public which we find them beneficial and informative.

We applied for Incomeshield and has been offered which will practically exclude most major illnesses, making the scheme less meaningful and less relevant to us.

Is there a way for us to appeal for a waiver or any other better alternatives for our health insurance? We have declared thoroughly our medical background to NTUC including the contact details of our regular doctor. Our doctor can help to certify that our medical condition is well within the limit and show no sign of deterioration in the last few years under present medication.

REPLY
I suggest that you write to NTUC. I hope that they still retain the cooperative spirit and are willing to treat their customers differently from other commercial insurance compnay.

if "your doctor can help to certify that our medical condition is well within the limit and show no sign of deterioration in the last few years under present medication", why don'y you ask your doctor to issue a letter or medical report to support your claim when you applied for the health insurance plan?

It is so funny to read that the insurer is lending you an umbrella with only the spokes and charging you for it. What is the use of a medical policy without the medical coverage?

Now cooperative means the customers giving ntuc the cooperation and not ntuc giving the customers. Time has changed. It has a new management. It is a social enterprise. Now policyholders must cooperate and agree whatever given. For example ,restructuring your bonus, reducing the annual bonus and push it to the special bonus for ntuc to lose more. i bet ntuc has lost a big chunk since adopting the industry best practice.
That is cooperation and is demanded from customers.

Hope in the future if there is any fiasco on insurance issues an organised meeting like What is organised for Tomorrow at Hans, 7.00PM, National Library for the minibond victims.

Where got cooperative anymore? The way money is spent on building and 20 chairs how to justify being cooperative. Cooperative means thrifty with policyholders' money and
better ROI for the policyholders and not insurance agents and the senior management.
