Dear Mr Tan,
If I like to buy insurance from NTUC Income, who do you recommend? Can I buy directly and enjoy a discount?

REPLY:
You can approach any of the advisers who are listed in the right panel of my blog. They maintain their own blogs. They are:
Thomas Phua
Alvin Soong
John Low
Glen Toh
You can also call the NTUC Income business center, if you wish to buy directly.
Mr. Tan , are they qualified? Their blogs look impressive but look more like advertising webs. They have lots of articles but that don't tell they are qualified. These are covers only. Are they financial planners? Do they have qualifications like CFP or CFA or any recognised qualifications? If they are just some insurance agents likely they will push products. I have seen many of them and I am wary of them. Certainly not them. Do you have others with right qualifications? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteDear Mr Tan,
ReplyDeleteThanks for recommending my blog. You have tried to provide public education on Insurance and Financial Planning, I shall also try my best to do the same.
In response to the comment of whether we, NTUC Income Insurance Advisors, are qualified, I just like to say that what an Insurance Advisor can do is to make recommendations, it's the one who is buying insurance products that has to decide. An Insurance Advisor cannot sell if the customers do not want to buy.
All the NTUC Income Adivisors are qualified as all have passed necessary examinations administered by the College of Insurance of Singapore as required by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
To Mr or Ms Anonymous, I just like to say that all the NTUC Income Advisors are making a honest living and please don't insult their integrity. It's unfortunate that those insurance agents you have met so far are crooks.
Listen, if you do not want to buy, nobody can FORCE you to buy any insurance products.
As for me, I am probably the worst Insurance Advisor, I only try to sell the cheapest products like Enhanced Incomeshield which all people would need. And, I don't sell, I wait for people to come to me to buy.
By the way, are you an Insurance Agent from another insurance company?

ReplyDeleteWe have been in the industry long enough to experience the ups and downs of some of our policyholder's lives.
ReplyDeleteYou can read my blog to be advertisement or read it for information, it is up to you to conclude.
If you need a CFP, CFA, there are agents with such qualifications or in FA firm and also in Ntuc Income.
Are you willing to pay a fee to see a CFP qualified agent for planning? We can refer one to you and I am sure you are prepared to pay a fee for the service.
Yes, most of us are qualified agent with the required regulatory qualification, which is sufficient for us to meet the needs of our policyholders.
You are probably a high net worth customer who needs a CFP agent.I would be happy to refer you to our CFP qualified agent, if you are willing to pay a fee, just drop me and email and I will link you to a CFP agent from Income.
But do not tell our CFP agent you are not willing to pay a fee and wants free advice only.
We all are serving a group base of over 1000 policyholders and we are rather selective too over some clients which we think are not worth our service.
I am sorry to say this, but some clients simply do not know what mutual respect is. To such, we are unable to develope client agent relationship and we rather serve those who are worthy of our service and appreciates our service.

I believe Mr Tan is very selective with the names he put in his blog.
ReplyDeleteWhy will be wants to put up any inexperience or unqualified people for recommendations?
To know if they are really qualified, try them if you are sincere in having your financial health cheacked?

ReplyDeleteI have deleted a few unpleasant exchanges between an anonymous party and two advisers from NTUC Income.
ReplyDeleteThe anonymous party posted some unfair remarks, and invited some angry replies from the advisers.
This is not a place for people to quarrel. So, I have deleted these exchanges.
Dear Mr Tan,
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you have deleted those unpleasant comments including mine.
There is a great possiblity that the first comment made by Mr or Ms Anonymous is done by an Insurance Agent from another Insurer. I know this because I can track where this person is coming from from the Sitemeter on my blog. And, this person visited my blog right around the time he or she made the comment.
I just like to take the opportunity to let people know that NTUC Income has good Advisors who are just making an honest living and should be treated with respect and dignity.

Honesty does not equate competence.
ReplyDeleteBut if they are combined it is powerful. My point is don't camouflage
incompetence with honesty or sincerity. Many customers were caught and until they discovered they didn't know what hit them.
The first impression is to look at your qualifications before proceeding to engage the adviser. The most accredited qualifications in the world today are CFP, CFA andMFP. The other qualifications are desperate copycats.
