Insurance premium for off-peak car

A blog reader called several insurance companies and obtained the following quote for his motor insurance:

Type: Off-peak car, after 20% NCD and excess $500:

India International: $599
Income: $618
China Insurance: $647
AIG: $889
AXA: $948

  1. India International usually insured by bus and taxi companies. Heard the lawyers there very hiong wan :)))

    Compare also the normal excess, and the windscreen excess.

  3. Ntuc Income is giving Zero Excess for windscreen now.

    So look like $618 against $599, Income may be a better deal.

    The other thing to look at is additional excess for young drivers and inexperience drivers.

    Many who have young adult children starting to drive are caught mostly by this young driver excess that can range from $1000 to $3500 or more.

    Do look into such excess. Many are simply not aware of these.

    A plan is not good only on the premium. It can be very different when one meet with an accident claim and it will then give you a big surprise.
