Simpler way to mail a letter

I sent a letter addressed to:

Tan Kin Lian
Singapore 809744.

10 days have passed. It never arrived!
Singapore Post must have decided that this address is incomplete and thrown the letter away!

  1. Hi Mr. Tan,

Are you living in a landed property? Is the unit number reflected in the postal code? I know that for HDB flats, we can only tell the block number from the postal code.

  2. Mr Tan,

I did a similar test. However, I am living in a HDB.

  3. Mr.Tan,

What about if you try this format?

    Mr.Lee Kuan Yew ( Minister Mentor )
    SINGAPORE

    NB:
I think it will reach him. : ))

  4. I just realised why the letter never arrived.

The postman will not know which house to deliver the letter to.

The post office will not refer to their database to get the house number.

This seems to be a resonable approach.
