I lost my identity card last month. I applied for a new card, but was advised to wait for two weeks, in case the card was found.
After four weeks, I received a letter from the relevant department. Someone found my identity card and returned it to them. The letter asked me to collect the card from their office.
What a wonderful service!
Wonderful service. Glad that you got your card back.
ReplyDeleteSometime back I lost my NRIC in a house breaking incident.
The burglar impersonated me and used my NRIC to obtain 3 phones and numbers each from SIngtel, Starhub and M1.
He got 9 phones at $0.
Although I reported this to police immediately, the telcos never did any checks before issuing 3 phones.
While a lost credit card be inactivated immediately, can a lost NRIC be inactivated?
Serious security hole?
My IC is starting to tear halfway along its length. I went to enquire whether I can get a replacement. I was told that if IC lost a $100 fee is payable. For wear and tear a $60 fee is payable. Can we then say that the banks are providing a wonderful service when they charge only $2 for ATM card replacements or some do not even charge at all since it is fair wear and tear.
ReplyDeleteWhy are Singaporeans being charged $60 to replace their NRIC due to fair wear and tear? Does it really cost $60 to replace a piece of plastic? Or is it called a market subsidy? Even if so, the market subsidy is $2 and not $60. What a "wonderful" service!
I lost my keys in the Jurong East Library. I called NLB, a few hours later they called me back and asked me to collect the lost keys - What a wonderful service!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Malaysia, I left my mobile in a taxi. I only remember it after about 10mins and by that time the taxi had dissapeared. When I called up my mobile number the man who answered claimed that it was his mobile and demanded I should stop calling him. What a wonderful experience!
