HSBC Trustee is the trust company for the Minibonds. I am looking for a senior person in this company that handles the bonds. If you know the name and contact person, I wish to talk to this person. Someone has an idea to minimise the losses. Please e-mail to me at kinlian@gmail.com.

ReplyDeleteEverytime I want to buy T-bills or SGS bonds, most branch staff got to call here & there to check, & don't even know what Forms to fill up. Seems like they have never handled such tranx before.
Mr Tan Kin Lian,
ReplyDeleteA suggestion for your consideration.
I feel that capital recovery is more important than quarterly interest payouts. Some investors may be prepared to sacrifice future interest payments for a GUARANTEED capital payback at maturity. This would interest a white knight as investors are prepared to provide an interest-free loan to him for the remaining tenor. As a condition of this interest-free loan, investors should be indemnified from any future credit event on the REs or any of the underlying securities.
I can't speak for others but am prepared to sign up for this option. Yes, I have chosen between the devil and the deep blue sea.
What do you think of this idea? Could you pls bring this up at your planned mtg with HSBC Trustee?
Thank you for a wonderful and informative blog. Now, why didn't I visit this site earlier?
Dear Kin Lian,
ReplyDeleteI had spoken to Mark Teo of HSBC Trustee on 22 Sep 2008 at tel no. 6239-7970, about the MINIBond. I am not sure how senior he is. You may wish to call him to find out more details or preferably arrange a meeting with him.
Regards,
Gan Cheong Chor
I followed Mr Tan's advice to write to HSBC Trustee on liquidation of Jubilee 3. I wrote to contact@hsbc.com.sg.
ReplyDeleteA HSBC officer called me, and asked me to call Merril Lynch at 63071320, or call HSBC Hotline 62167449.
When I asked for a HSBC email id to redirect my letter, he said "HSBC TRUSTEE HAS NOT SET UP A DEPARTMENT TO HANDLE SUCH QUERIES."
I asked to send to their CEO, he said I can write to: direct@hsbc.com.sg attention: Mr Guy Harvey Samuel.
I checked google, I think Mr Guy is CEO of HSBC Singapore (not sure he is CEO of HSBC Trustee).
