Hi KL Tan,
I felt sorry for u on the outrageous remarks posted in ST by Mr Chua SY. I strongly suggest that you should sue both ST and the latter for the damage to your integrity and character as a result. Otherwise, the general public may really lead to conclude that you have other agendas in mind as what Mr Chua had written. At the very least, a public apology must be sought from them in order to put this matter to a close.
What are your thoughts ?

Thank you. I do not wish to engage in the "suing" activity.
Suing is often a double edged sword in defamation.
ReplyDeleteIt can be costly, timely and opens you to scrutiny. Just like being in public office or be a public figure.
Remember TT Durai in the NKF saga ?
Live and Let Live !

ReplyDeleteThank you. I do not wish to engage in the "suing" activity."
If one rethink about this episode, one might not help but realise that this route might had been foreseen, hence the provocation.
Hi K L,
ReplyDeleteOur MM & PM always seek redress through court procedures when their reputations were in question.
In this instance,I strongly think that you should teach ST & Mr.Chua a lesson.Let the court decides what punishments should serve on them.

Hi TKL,
ReplyDeleteyou make the right choice of not sueing anyone. For every Chua SY, there will always be another 10 Chuas willing to do the same thing to frustrate you. You have done good things and people like Chua has already awaken. You will unlikely to see another childish and ignorant article written by this Chua again for MSM.
"If one rethink about this episode, one might not help but realise that this route might had been foreseen, hence the provocation."
ReplyDeleteAh! I recall the phase i wanted to use now
Its called "Silence of the Lambs"
Killing the thing that does not, COULD NOT make noise when its being slaughtered.
Hey sound like the Investors' demise already.
Dear Mr. Tan,
ReplyDeleteI am gald that you have taken the position of not suing. In life, we have to accept differing view even though technically in law, something said may be defamatory. If evevytime, one said something has to be vetteed by top lawyers, then the society is in a very sad state of affair.
Good and wise decision.
No need to sue, Mr.Tan.
ReplyDeleteas a matter of fact, besides FIs,
law firms is another organization that I hate. They will make your life even messy.
as Chinese says,"Qing Zhe Zi Qing".
Take care.
XH
I respect Mr.Tan's decision of not suing.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Chinese say 清者自清。
What we can help to support Mr.Tan and contribute for his blog is to help him to publish this blog. Let more of our friends know this blog and come to speak their mind here.
The positive voices will then kick away the negative and attact voices.
cheers.
I think you can take the suing route if your are financially and politically powerful. In this case the chance of winning is 100%.
ReplyDeleteThat is why very powerful people always want to sue even for a very small issue because they know they will win 100%. They are not contented with just an apology. They have to sue to give the maximum pain to the defendent.
For you, me and maybe Kin Lian we are just ordinary people. The suing route is not our game to play.
I agree with Kin Lian's position not to sue because it will go nowhere.

I disagreed with you somewhat
1. chance of winning is NEVER 100%
2. people sue mostly not because they think they can win, people sue mostly because they are bent, if not hopeful, on redeeming something, be it material or face. or BOTH.
As for,
"For you, me and maybe Kin Lian we are just ordinary people. The suing route is not our game to play.
I agree with Kin Lian's position not to sue because it will go nowhere."
I am glad you, as like many and their friends would, support my "Silence of the Lambs".
Mr Tan, you are not SM or PM and ST belongs to Temasek, you will likely lose. If you really want to sue, just sue that idiot and not ST. I think he is trying to frustrate your effort and focus to help the poor investors. There may be a mastermind behind. So don't lose focus. GOD bless you.
ReplyDeleteDo you think Mr. Tan has good chance of winning Mr. Chua ?
ReplyDeletesuing is a useless act in this case.
Good for you Kin Lian. At the least you are now following in the footsteps of our 1st world government in Singapore..
ReplyDeleteDear Mr Tan Kin Lian,
ReplyDeleteI'm an observer of this 'mis-selling' issue and support your efforts in helping those investors who wants to seek redress but don't know how to. I've visited the first investor's meeting at Speaker's Corner.
I am surprised that ST had managed to published this kind of remark from Mr Chua that attacks your integrity and character. You have gained further respect from me by not engaging in the "suing" activity, which shows that you are unlike the others who use this tool whenever there are reasons to do so. I hope that Mr Chua has expressed his apologies to you. If this case do happen again, please revisit this "suing" route to seek what is right and true.
Tough road ahead, investors or not, you may not see it, but there are many people like me who are very thankful and appreciative to you for stepping up to help. Hope this keeps you motivated, Mr Tan. :D
Regards,
Cheng
