At terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport, there is a mobile charging station where travellers can charge their mobile phones and laptop computers. It can accomodate many users. There are also ample seats at this station. There is free wireless connection, although the speed is slow, possibly due to heavy usage. This is useful and thoughtful design.
Our Changi Airport also have such facilities that I have been using it before I depart.

Even in India, public places have mobile phone chargers for most brands and models.. and they are for free.
ReplyDeleteThe businessmen here are very myopic.
Its all about profit, and fear of being sued for negligence if the phones are damaged.
The regulators too, are very stringent on following rules about safety.
They are of course NOT STRINGENT about insurance, banking and land banking
Truly myopic.. selectively.
Nothing is free. It's all in the airport tax (direct) and the charges to the airlines (indirect, factored into the fares).
ReplyDeleteWhat's important is value for money. I think that Changi Airport has done well through the years.
Have not been to Dubai yet, but we have noticed the tiolets at our Changi Airport are cleaner than last year, we still hope to have a chance to visit Dubai, and compare this famous airport with our own.
