  1. The ruling PAP government really has to do a lot of reflections and rethinking on many recent policies which have serious impacts on the ordinary Singaporeans' lives.

To help them to begin with that process. Perhaps, the government should treat his people more like their partners - to listen and always act in their interests, in a very true and concrete manner; until when a big majority of people NO MORE feel doubtful about it.

Are we asking too much? I believe the next General Election will answer.

  2. Before the GE in 2006. MM Lee held a dialogue with some University students, some students voiced unhappiness about they, locally born and bred , were not allowed or had no chance to vote, owing to walkovers in their constituencies.
This time the question posed to GCT is in keeping with the times - the young do not feel a sense of belonging in their own country, full of opportunistic foreigners taking advantage of locally born and bred citizens in all fields like education, jobs, etc, even to the extent of being expelled and left in the lurch.
Goh veered the topic off by concentrating on the foreign worker building housing and infrastructure, showing the extent of the wide gulf between the Govt and the people.
What the young really concerned about is their future career prospects being jeopardised by cheaper mid to high level foreign staff in the employment market, not the foreign construction worker, as if Goh was talking to an audience of the cleaner and hawker assistant uncles and aunties.
Listen properly, mate Goh, we older citizens also feel we are foreigners in our own land, and answer the gist of the question.
