Making advance payments

Consumers should be wary about making advance payments for private school fees, spa treatments or other services, or investing in investment schemes by unregulated bodies that promises a high rate of return.

  1. Recently I received an unsolicited call asking me to invest in wine.

I searched for the company's name online and found that investors are complaining that their requests to sell the wine take a long time to settle. Some of them have been consistently asking the broker to sell for a few years already. And some of them say the broker say their collection is not complete and must buy a certain type and quantity of wine before they will auction it.

    Conclusion: Ignore them.
