Youth who are involved in gang activities should be jailed and caned. They are a total nuisance to society. Even if they are jailed, taxpayers have to pay for their living expenses incurred in prison. What a waste.
There is a Chinese saying about solving the problem on the surface, but not the root cause. Rounding them up and putting them into jail is a short cut way that is not the solution. The parents are too busy to show concern, love and company to their children, and the Govt is over-emphasising on grades and achievment in schools. What about moral and civic eduaction, it's simply not worth a cent in schooling nowadays. Even if the child is not academically good in his school, he may be good at other ways, as every profession could create an A-Star scholar. Look at solving the root of the problem.
