I am sure people were much happier back in those days than they are now. Much poorer, more children, less entertainment, simple life but generally happy lot.
Is economic progress really a good thing?
The happiest people on this planet are from Bhutan. They dont have much.
Now we have everything but very unhappy. Strange......
Things we miss greatly that money can't buy: the traffic jam free roads, the now demolished Great World City at Kim Seng Road, the old Holland Village, and not least the vanishing Kampongs, think the only kampong left is at Buangkok Green, near the Mental Hospital. Things we hate most, the new, decadent casino resorts that our Govt is so proud of, and which are destroyong our local society.
I remembered the Katong Park satay. It was double the size of most modern days one. It was also tastier and delicious too.
ReplyDeletei thought we are just a tiny fishing village? haha :P
