Heard an American expat commenting on the local education system here. "You dun need rocket science to realise why there is Nobel Prize Nomination candidates from Singapore. People here are not taught to put on their thinking cap. They sort of just learn robotic style, absorb every damn thing from the teacher, then regurgitate what they're taught, that's it, no contribution from the kid. No way gonna put my kids thru' such schooling."
