I asked this question in the Wisdom of the Crowd - How can Singapore rebuild relations with the new government in Malaysia?
Here are the responses:
40% - Delay the High Speed Rail due to their financing problem.
38% - Speed up clearance at the checkpoint
13% - Reduce charges for Malaysian vehicles entering Singapore
9% - Build the crooked bridge between Singapore and Johor.

Yes, first make offer to delay the HSR construction to a much later future.
ReplyDeleteOwing to Malaysian Govt short on cash, it dun bode good to receive compensation, they would again accuse us selfish and without heart to a close struggling neighbour.
A close neighbour is worth more than a far away relative.
Also a gracious gesture to remedy the acrimony owing to LKY's refusal to help Mahathir during the Asian Financial Crisis 1998.
As to Mahathir's hidden Agenda wanting us to help foot the bill, presently just be bodoh, pray that they dun ask.
