My wife read the newspaper and asked me - should I buy CareShield?
I told her - you are already covered under Eldershield. When CareShield is launched in 2021, you should move to CareShield. It is better than ElderShield.
Well - she does not understand what the difference is. It is very confusing to her.
I am sure that it is also very confusing to 90% of the people in Singapore.
I don't know why it has to be so complicated.
Like someone said - if it is not convoluted, it is not Singapore.

No such thing as simple functional- ability. They like to act that are giving our money's worth to have such capable people to come up with such formulae. Its a reassurance that tax-payers money are well-spent and not being frittered away wastefully?
ReplyDeleteFrom the words of ministers & reported news, I suspect the Careshield premiums are priced very aggressively against the people to over-fund the pooled monies.
ReplyDeleteApart from those who get moderate-serious strokes, most others who reach the stage of unable to do 3 out of 6 ADLs will not live long. E.g. heart failure, COPD, kidney failure, muscular dystrophy, cancer etc.
Being in a wheelchair or being half paralysed or becoming blind usually doesn't qualify a person as being unable to do 3 out of 6 ADLs.
