Many people think that a benefit or free service should only be provided to locals and not foreigners.
I disagree with this approach. I prefer any benefit to be provided to all residents.
If we want the foreigners to pay some tax to enjoy the benefit, we can introduce the tax.
Actually, the employer already pay a levy for a foreign worker - and it justifies that they can enjoy subsidized health care, public transport, etc.
The exception are the E-Pass holders where the employer does not have to pay a levy. This is an anomaly that should be addressed.
I get very disappointed when people want to charge more for foreigners or to deny public services and benefits to them. This is a short sighted view.
