Remove obstacles to better customer service

Customer service in Singapore is terrible. It takes 4 days to get a reply from a customer service inquiry. Sometimes, there is no reply at all.

This is not caused by insufficient customer service officers, or a high volume of work. It is caused by a bad SOP (standard operating procedure) that can be rectified immediately.

What is this issue?

  1. This is what will happen if we go overboard with digitization. It would benefit mostly the Raffles Place kind of crowd and offices. The older generation and those not so fluent in tech are being pushed out. We need a little mixture of Swissland, Bhutan and Singapore. If some people wants life to be fast-pace and not travelling to banks or so whatever than its their prerogative. Give others choices what and when they are comfortable having a human connection where they feel a sense of security in dealing with money in large sums. Do not make decisions by validate change which you felt the people must accept it your way. Stupid Ministers. A lot of times navigating a web-page is as not as simple as one thinks. Once during ATM withdrawals I just took my card and walked away forgetting to pick-up my 1k. It was only later that I discovered I had no money to pay for my purchase. As it was my first time I tried calling the bank but was replied to go to their website after pressing 1~10 listening to record voices. In the end I had to make a trip down and was told the machine had swallow back the money when I walked away and they will credit it back into my account.

  2. Vote more oppositions. Maybe they can come out with ideas that can suit different groups. Even today
our parents gives us some say. With PAP its only their say.

  3. Visions must not simply imposed by the top. As a result, people are not committed as they do not feel is meaningful by merely complying with what is thrown at them. As a result you lose interest as a citizen.

A short summary- Imagine a scenario where no oppositions came out ( whether they lose or not being well-liked) is another matter. They secured 100% of the votes. Can imagine the sheet they throw at the people?

  7. Before my last maid went home for good, she told us her age was 10 years older. Agents minus 10 years for old ones, plus extra 10 years for young ones. They cut their hair and taught them to report to police if they were mistreated. Told them that they were not to do any chores that is outside their work scope. Not a surprise to us as it had always been my suspicion.

  8. If the Sellers Stamp Duty were to start on the day they collect their keys, would the show-flat crowd dwindle to half? After all MOP in HDB starts from the day the owners collect their keys?

Set up a $2 company. Put all the relatives with high salary to get loan. Book units using different names to avoid ABSD. Sell it during construction completion. SSD not applicable as 3 years starts from the day you put the deposit? I'm an agent so I know. Speculators leopard spots cannot change. When 4 years after TOP the recession would be over.

  11. I was next in Q of a lady maybe between 45 to 55 years of age in a telecom shop. I got sat next to her when our numbers were called on screen. She told the counter service about her refund.
"Can I have your IC?" She than checked her computer and asked her what was her PayPal number.

    The customer couldn't understand.

" You go to the bank and get your PayPal and come back. We will transfer the money to your account."

The customer said she will ask her son to do it for her and left.

Sometimes something so easy can become so difficult and the future looks scary.
