Until you treat everyone as an equal, you have no right to complain about the treatment you receive from anyone. Using public funds to help those who can live in Prime public flats.
Special treatment for those who have a chance to live in a Prime area public housing?? “I believe in equality for everyone.” – Mahatma Gandhi
I believe in equality for everyone, not just for those living in Prime Public housing.
If we expect others to rely on our fairness and justice we must show that we rely on their fairness and justice, not only to those who live in Prime flats.
In this world nobody owes anyone a living. The government's place is the responsibility to provide every single family and citizen, decent, livable, and affordable public housing. The citizen's place is to cut their pants according to the cloth. Public housing is already subsidies and comes with grants. Where does a piece of string end?
When Pinnacle@Duxton was open for booking, the initial sale price was $480k for a 5-room. TOP was 2009. Even if the buyer sells it at $1.1M today, he needs to pay a similar amount to get a replacement. The only difference is he probably needed a lesser loan amount than another one who has nothing to sell?
Who is the main cause of the housing dilemma? The severely restricted available supply and the exploitation of homes by "smart money" as would be in the stock market.
Marginalized citizens are those who earn $6.50 an hour.
Marginalized citizens are 5 human bodies cramping in a 1 room flat or 7 human bodies cramping in a 700 sq ft flat.
If I am paying higher GST, stamp duty from 3% to 4%, sky-high ABSD, then I would prefer my hard earn money to higher subsidize these groups of people...

Some are just more richly rewarded than others!
Is it location or "architecture" considered prime HDB?
ReplyDeleteDawson HDB selling less than Dawson Skyville? Both are public flats in the "same location"?
