Overcome your Fear

Hi Kin Lian,

Thanks for sharing the video of the firework in Taipei.

I read from your blog about your recent experience on upgrading your computer. It is very encouraging and inspiring for computer illiterates like me to want to try too. What holds us back is the Fear Factor. What if our computer hangs! Only we can overcome this fear ourselves. You have shown the way.

Many are held back by their own fears. They fear doing maths or science, making decisions and even making simple comments on matters of special or even common interest. These are too many KIASU people. Unfortuantely some are even proud of this too!.

We all have our own talents to do certain things to make contributions which can benefit others. You and I have been doing this throughout our lives in various ways as a purpose of our lives, if not our mission, to add values to the lives of others.

  1. Just do it!
The internet is there for us to query. It's growing everyday and we just need to learn how to do a search to get what we want.

There are some tools available for us. I suggest we learn them.

    Google Advanced Search

Google Suggest (Type and Google will suggest keywords)

    SearchMash (Another Google's project)

    Search using Search Operators

There are also several online forums around and you can always register as a member and post some questions there. You can also try answering people's questions as well :)

    Cheers

  2. I like what you say about the purpose of our lives, ie. to add values to the lives of others. We must be driven by this purpose. Unfortunately many are driven by personal greed that they minus value of others to enrich themselves.
Life is not a zero sum game but there are people who make it a zero sum game by making others' theirs'.
There is group of people i have in mind and they are the insurance agents.Admittedly there are good ones but they make up the minority.
The vast majority is self driven, greedy, incompetent, dishonest and unscrupulous. They don't add value and if do ,only a little bit to cover up their real motive,ie. to squeeze as much out of the customers so that they can be rich.
To eradicate this I hope Mr. Tan can quickly set up a company that provides low cost insurance and sets the trend for the industry. If Axa can have only term insurance at very competitive rates i don't see
why others can't. Axa is truly a "buy term invest the rest" company.
They have only 2 groups of products, term and ILPs, protection and wealth creation.

  3. Did you not enquire about AXA's ILP distribution charges?

Can they stand up to scrutiny?

How else do you think their tied agents get re-numerated?

  4. What do you know about the charges for Axa's ILPs? The single and the regular?: There maybe ILPs with high charges but do you know effective from now all those ILPs that qualify for CPFIS are capped? In other words
there is a level playing field now for ILPs.(CPF)
