Journalists refused to cover the Petition

I sent an email to notify the journalists on two occasions about the Petition concerning the credit linked notes. There were about 10 journalists in my mailing list. They have covered the credit linked notes previously.

None of the journalists replied to me. They also did not cover this effort. There was total silence on their part. This is a sad state of affairs.

  1. So you now know the truth. They are just a bunch of wage earners who have to do the bidding of their masters who in turn do theirs'.
No journalist has the conscience to stand up to truth. They only know how to bully the weak. You can see the coverage on some poor souls whose so called petty misdeeds have exposed and blown out of proportion. These poor souls are already down but these kick them in the sides until they cannot wake up. They sensationalise it to boost the sale of the newspaper at the expense of their victims. These are the journalists who prey on the weak to make a living.
I remember exhorting a few journalists to take MAS to task for failing to enforce section 27. No report on this but some grandfather story about the misfortune of the investors.
Now you have seen through their skin who they actually are.
    We are behind you.

  2. This is understandable. They need to earn a good living. If I were in their shoes I would do the same.

This also explains why there are 50% walkovers at every election. Few want to be in the opposition camp. Nothing to be gained but only pain.

  3. They certainly know which side of the bread the butter is on. The ruse on "whats your name, which paper you work for" certainly worked. Those who dare stand up were probably quietly thrown out in a legalistic manner. What is left behind just watch the clock and the ATM.

  4. Since the journalists and the newspapers refused to cover this petition, I hope that readers of my blog will help to spread the message.

Please send this message to all the people that you know:

"Mr. Tan Kin Lian is organising a Petition to the Prime Minister to ask him to assist the investors to get similar compensation given to investors in Hong Kong. Please inform the people who are affected by the credit-linked notes to sign the Petition. The blog is www.tankinlian.blogspot.com"

  6. I agree with the comments that some journalists are biased in their reporting. They have agenda in their reporting especially in cases involving their friends. they will write long and biased reports to put an exagerated bad impression on the other party.

  7. Hi Mr Tan

Can you show us the mail which you have sent on the 2 occasions?

We would like to know the 2 dates and the names of the "about 10 journalists in my mailing list."

  8. I don't think any one of the journalists or editors dare to cover this for fear of offending the Ministers. They want to protect their rice bowl.

  9. Now a new one. CCTV at speaker corner.

OTT idea: Our Top Talent idea.
    DMDP: Draw millions$ deliver Peanut
CCTV@SC: CCTV camera at Speaker Corner
    FOC: Full of Crap.

Really Kiasu man. What will they think of next. My guess is manage by fear. Given time all's forgotten. Then give some peanut incentive before election. After election, ask for Ministers pay raise again claiming it is their effort to ride out of recession.

    FOC.
