i agree that primary care physicians are the way to go to address over payment to medical specialists and ever increasing healthcare costs. realistically, over 80% of conditions can be managed at primary care level......it is when even moderate/minor conditions needs to be seen by highly paid specialists that keeps costs up. there needs to be a change in the mindset of our people, that is, to build up a system of having a good family physician per family. this will prevent the spiralling costs - look at usa, we are moving in that direction. that said, all systems have their pros and cons.
