A safe environment

Singapore used to be a safe place. But in recent years, the situation has changed. Many people are feeling less safe in Singapore due to the large influx of foreigners and to inadequate policing action. Do you find Singapore to be less safe than before? Give your views here.

  1. Mr Tan, you are referring to physically safe or financially safe?

If physically safe, I still feel SG is a very safe place to stay. You don't feel insecure even if you go out alone in the middle of the night. I used to be from Indonesia, in comparison, SG is still a very safe place.

But if you mean financially safe? I never feel SG is safe.

  3. These foreigners are here to work. Many work long hours. I don't think they are creating security problem. But, their presence do diminish the chance of local Singaporeans looking for employment.I can only complain that the playing field for the employment scene is not level. This indeed frustrates many Singaporeans !

  5. No it is not as safe as some people think. Our mass media will not report on all the bad happenings. The police will only take action if the crime is a serious one, other wise they will not record it and ask you to take you own legal action. In this way they can show nice statistics that crime in s'pore is low.
