It seems that there are some similarities between Singapore and the governments that have fallen, i.e. governments that stay too long in power, ignore the opinion of their citizens and do not practice democracy and openness. But there are also differences, so will the Singapore system continue to survive?

  1. the singapore system will survive as long as long as we can still import oil at a reasonably cheap price to grow our economy. However, it is most likely the system will collapse over the next decade or two(if lucky) as high inflation in food and energy and high unemployment caused by high oil price ravage singapore.
