Interviews with Financial Institutions

Many investors have reported unsatisfactory experiences when they attend the interviews called by the financial institutions. I suggest that they write to the independent "well regarded" persons appointed by the financial institution.

As you do not have the address of these persons, you can write to their specific name (i.e Mr. Gerard Ee, Mr. Law Song Keng or Mr. Hwang Soo Jin, c/o the Monetary Authority of Singapore).

If you attend an interview, as a fellow investor to attend with you. In turn, you can accompany the interview with the fellow investors.

This is unsatisfactory, but it is MAS way. Let us follow it as best as we can.

Bully by FI during interview session !!

Just because MAS asks FI to take priority to help the vulnerable group and one FI defines this group as “retiree, age 62 and above and not more than primary 6 education level”. The FI use this as weapon to attack the investors.

Refer to today’s(25.10.08) Zaobau forum , FI interviewer said to the investor that since he is in IT career and SHOULD BE able to understand the form he signed as it is written in simple English.(note: the investor clarifies that he is from Chinese stream)

Dear FI interviewer, Do not make such assumption on purpose and try to conclude that the investor is not mis-led or mis-sold . Even lecturer from university find difficulty to understand the prospectus of the complex product

Gather information from this blog , knowing that interviewer will ask whether we sign any form.

Frankly, majority of us can’t remember. Even we did sign , this is a requirement . Even if we asked the RM what is this at that time . The reply is “ regulation”


I am a regular minibond purchaser, first round of purchase , I asked what form is it, the answer is” requirement” &” requlation.” During the subsequent purchase, I just fill up the place need “individual applicant signature” “Amount” “type- S$ or US$” “cheque number” “datd of application”.


Now , recalled this , all these may cause me in trouble

I feel very unsafe to go for the interview after learning the bad experiences from the investors from the newspaper & your blog.

MAS advises the investors to give a chance to FI to explain during interview at stage one.

Let a victim to be questioned by rapist & and his powerful / rich parents(FI representatives) . It is very unfair.

Can I follow the standard compliant format obtaining at Hong Lim park and list down the facts.
Send the form to FI & c.c to MAS without attending the interview?
