Job support scheme was largely wasteful

 The govt spent a large sum from the reserves to support the economy and jobs during the pandemic.

A large part of the spending was wasteful. Because of the wasteful spending, we now have to pay higher GST.

The Job Support Scheme is an example of a wasteful spending. What was the alternative?

Promoting cashless payment

 I suggest that we have a NFC card linked to the Pay Now account, so that it can be used to make cashless payment conveniently.

Instead of taking many steps to make a Pay Now payment, the customer use the NFC card to tap on the merchant's device.

Provide low cost treatment in public hospitals

The public health service can be kept affordable.

They should treat all patients with inexpensive generic drugs. They should avoid branded drugs.

Often, the generic drugs are suitable to treat the patients. They have been tested for decades and found to be effective anyway.

Counter productive to carry out daily covid testing of travelers

I am puzzled by the need for a traveler to carry out a daily covid test for several days on arriving into another country.

I find it to be troublesome and unnecessary.
