Under the leadership of the Communist Party
For many years, I held the view that the political system adopted in communist countries is a better system.
In a communist country, the constitution provides that the country has to be run "under the leadership of the communist party". This requires the leaders to be elected by the members of the communist party.
Why are developing countries not adopting the political system of China?
Someone posed this question - If the Chinese system is so effective, why does it only work in China and isn't being adopted by other developing nations?
I will answer the question.

Singapore is now in a leadership succession crisis.
Heng Swee Kiat, who was in line to be the next prime minister, resigned abruptly from leadership of the team that is preparing to take over from the current prime minister. However, it seems that he will continue as a senior minister for the time being.
The other contenders in the leadership succession are Chan Chun Sing, Ong Ye Kung, Lawrence Wong and Desmond Lee.
