I invested $709,354 USD in US growth stocks in 2011. I suffered a paper loss of $286,822 on these stocks.
I realized profit on these stocks in 2020 and on sales made in 2021 which were not included in the above calculation. Overall, my gain might have covered the losses.
I did make a substantial gain on my investment in Tesla. This gain is not shown above.

It does not matter who is paying or who is buying. One name one house. You want your name for another house you pay 17%, not including the 4% stamp duty. These are called cooling measures.
