Japan has severely chosen to restrict immigrants for social and economic reasons.

Less than 2% of the population was born abroad.

Immigration isn't always problem-free, but it provides opportunities for manpower, skills and diversity to compete in the new global economy.

A culturally diverse workforce translates a competitive edge on an international level? Yet
when the world watches the Olympics from their screen, you wouldn't think that it is in Japan???
