Reliable and effective service is hard to come by nowadays.
What happened to the days when you call a telephone, three ring tones your call is answered and they put you to the extension without listening to robotic messages for half-hour.
Some just no answer at all.
The efficient country my ass.

No new updates on bank locations.

A personal experience. Some time back, there was an urgency to transfer money into another account. After three hours of trying, was unable to log in. Calling their hotline continued being engaged. It was only on the second day got wind CIMB the site was down.
My next option was dropping a cheque into CITI quick deposit box. Checking out for the nearest locations prove to be a countless hassle. Some banks were no longer at some places but addresses continued to be not updated. Calling CITi'S hotline was spitted with, 'sorry you have entered the wrong info.' The line was cut off.
It did get resolved at the end but was all the aggravation necessary?

In conclusion, internet banking has got its typical nonsense.

What you master in one area is difficult to transfer to another.

It will be difficult to transfer from academia into real life.

Book smarts are not real life smarts.

Who in this world wanted their hard to disappear.

Those who were so badly affected should form a group, share legal fees for one law firm and

sue the bank for negligence. If banks can get away with it, money in banks will never feel safe ever.

The reality is if we are still under Lee Kuan Yew or Goh Chok Tong, MAS or Ministers involved

would come out and chastise the banks or the operational procedures. The fact is leaving

the victims to deal with the pain of losing their hard-earned money is not a government that

cares. If they are voted out for the next election, there will be no sadness. Period.

Who are the ones who had access to OCBC mobile numbers? How did the scammers know who are the bank customers?

Guilty!

Authorities failed to ensure all banks are equipped with 995 emergency numbers.

OCBC failed to red flag that more than 450 Singaporeans are emptying their bank accounts to foreign banks overseas???
