Collector shoe and shoe collector

A collector shoe is not a shoe collector. How humorous.

A bit of our Engineer's English here and also SAF stocklist.

E.g.
(a) Towering block (proper English)
(b) "Tower" Block (Engineer's English) but often spelled Tower Block in drawings. Especially to distinguish it from Basement. So to the PUB engineer, "ponding" must be distinguised from "flooding". To Minister VB "I call a spade a spade" but he does not know it is cheaper to solve a "ponding" issue than a "flooding" issue...so he said we should not apply "surgery" to the issue because this is "Doctor" English. To me an issue is an issue to be solved and you need not apply "surgery".

E.g. SAF
(a) Temasek Green Fieldpack (proper English)
(b) Pack, Field ; Temasek Green(SAF) ...

Better still they can get you walk through a "gas" chamber but use "smoke" to simulate "tear gas" ... lol.

Comparing public transport systems of different countries is only natural to ensure improvement. I took Japan MRT last year. Taipei MRT/HSR/Rail last year and this year. Korea MRT 2 years ago. In terms of cleaniness, orderly, timing and comfort --> Good. On par with Sgp or better. Of course, the MRT is crowded during Peak hours but the people just live with it. If one takes the easy way out to increase people population so as to increase GDP and thus get a 8 month bonus, the side effect is the infrastructure suffered and the poor new ministers has to fire-fight while taking a pay cut. Those responsible has left but I still hold the Government responsible as all past decisions are made by the team. If you are paid millions then you have to expect high expectation from the voters. You cannot utter statements like "Singaporeans complaints alot". Everytime a crisis happens, irritating statements from Ministers like "it happens once every 5 years", "these are external factors beyond our control", "I feel good with my money in CPF", "Faster, cheaper and better" just pissed me off. It is very difficult for a person earning $200,000 a month telling a jobless man to "upgrade your skill to improves your marketability" when the jobless man knows that it is hopeless with his age as well as almost impossible to compete "Faster, Cheaper, Better" younger foreigners. 1.3 millions of them. So, the Govt is more interested in GDP bonus or Older Singaporeans? I don't even trust the official rate of unemployment. So after GE, what's changed? What's new? They are still drawing millions and we are still jobless and living in a crowded place with high cost of living. Do not place to much hope on change, just make sure to save when you are young and not get into too much debt. Nobody owes you a living especially the govt. Have fun with the GE and after that, life goes on with or without the Govt.
