It seems that HK not only beats Singapore in term of more competitive in economic ranking yet manage to protect its citizens from investment fraud. Unlike our MM & SM of that time saying that investors go in with their eyes open or PM was reportedly saying "let the buyer beware" instead of admitting that MAS failure to regulate, banking malpractice and government inaction were to blame. The current Education Minister is the CEO of MAS at that time.

Don't talk about the Lehman Brothers minibond, just look at those retail forex schools in singapore, did MAS do anything to regulate them after so many years. one cannot conduct such financial education in HK/Australia without a financial related license, the trainer is being regulated too. All these FX schools in singapore are selling dreams one, over 20% returns per month, trainer grows the account over 1000% in few months.All these amazing stories are being advertised through Facebook , twitter, internet and magazines everyday. The sad thing is there are many housewives, retirees and jobless people are so naive to believe it.

citizens could rant and cry till the cows come home, our PAP Govt would still stay callous, non-committed, distant and cold.

These people Get big salary & do nothing when their jobs are to regulate. What a shame! and want to compare pays with privtae sector high-earners.
