Why I dislike GST

GST is not necessary and bad for Singapore. Here are my reasons, and also the views of other people, including some who disagree with me.

Agree. For small businesses, it's a costly hassle.
The Govt says they are used to fund social services for the poor, but how much of the collection is used for this purpose, there is no transparency in the accounts, looks more like another source of revenue to the Reserves, than on public expenditure. A matter of taking from Peter to pay Paul, to make up for lower Corporate and Income taxes.

To say that most Singaporeans do not pay taxes is misleading because GST is even worse than income tax. You pay GST from the womb to the grave, and even after death.

Govt budget is negative.

7% GST did not help.
2 new Casinos revenue didn't help.
Lowered company tax worsen it.
F1 revenue didn't help.
Increase Ministers' salary & bonus didn't help.
Reducing Ministers' salary this year, also didn't help.

Nothing is working. So why are they still paid the highest salary in the World? Beats me.
