No single automation can address the full spectrum of societal challenges. Regrettably, proposing what they deemed "easy solutions" to a complex set of problems in the short term, but reality will catch up sooner or later.

“When leaders tolerate mediocrity, it’s a cancer that spreads like wildfire.”
― Frank Sonnenberg.

The tale about the SingTel set-top box.

After TV viewings were messed up we spent hours on the phone with them instructing on how to reboot.

We were told to bring down the box for exchange.

After walking around and round the mall could not find the shop.

Called Singtel hotline after listening to messages on which number to press.

Could not understand the tone of the operator who sounded like from the Philippines(call center)?

The traffic noise contributes to repeats of not understanding what they say and cannot hear.

After circles of the roundabout, discovered that Singtel had outsourced their services to the shop which had moved.

In the past, we called and the technician was sent to the house with all kinds of tools and gadget replacements in a Singtel van.

Today, everything falls on the consumers picking up the tab.

My daughter had just given birth in Melbourne.
My son-in-law(ex-Singaporean) was very stingy, so my daughter was made to endure 16 hours of labour pains. The hospital is way better than the KK Hospital here.
The whole birth process is free, but payment is necessary if any special request is made.
Taxes are high, but most services and schooling are free.

Self-righteousness is not helpful.

Profits before people and that my friend is a fact.

They are not ashamed of the kind of profits they make and that my friend is a fact.

$40,000 a 3-day hospital for a maid in Singapore! What a joke!

The past is history yesterday doesn’t matter, and the future is a mystery thank the good lord.

The day, the hour, the moment is a gift that’s why it’s called the present. People don’t

appreciate the clocks ticking the moment you’ve got only lasts one moment and doesn’t call

again so make the most of every moment you’ve got.

The fast pace of digitization;

In a complex interconnected world, we can't control everything, the wild-goose chase of technology around us at an increasingly dizzy pace, and the erratic politicians are turning people's lives into the unknown.

"Great leaders are known by three signs: generosity in the design, humanity in the execution, and moderation in success. Moderation! Moderation! Moderation!
— Otto von German chancellor.

They are wearing too many hats that are realistic possible. As a result, their brains are divided into too many potions:-

1) Quality stretch too thin.

2) Exceptional time management and organizational skills went down the toilet.

3) Lack of priority where areas are needed most.

4) Yo-yo to and fro from switching multiple personalities. Increased stress levels.

Earlier times received documents from fax machines. Signed it and faxed it back.

In modern times, receive documents by email, print them, sign them, scan them and email them back.

In the long term, not only do ordinary individuals mandatorily need to carry a smartphone, but homes also require essentials to own a printer, and have internet access and a computer.

To top it all up, you need at least one household member to be internet savvy. A demystifying world?
