In Japan, it is not an exaggeration to say almost everyone is out to help you. Japanese people are the kindest and most helpful people and once you have traveled around Japan most will agree that the honesty and kindness of the local people is a big factor in what makes Japan such a wonderful place to live and visit.

There are police officers, stationed in their boxes in cities around the country, to provide directions to lost tourists and locals. Here you not only see police cars speeding whether in carparks or roads, they also tend to weave in and out without signaling WTF. It seems that people seldom take pride in their jobs anymore.

In countries, infrastructures count, and so are the people as they represent that country.

A few weeks ago, I was in a building carpark, when I heard tyres screeching.

I saw a police vehicle, which had missed the exit turning right.

It just reversed with tyres screeching and without any signals like it was angry.

3 taken to hospital after a chain collision on SLE involving 5 vehicles. (Very Common Scenario) today.

License to drive needs to be tougher.

Most Grab drivers have never even driven in their lives but are allowed to drive the public around because they have a license!

Roads and driving are fraught with danger daily.
No one or authority has come up with an Effective and Efficient method to increase the country's and people's confidence in the roads.
So far the answer has been it is a shared responsibility.
You take 50% of your life to gamble with the other shared 50% shared responsibility.
This is the kind of people we have leading the country today. Just take the easy way out.
What a waste.

In Singapore, the drivers are:
Sleepy
Most everyone whether cyclists, pedestrians and drivers felt the roads only belonged to them.
Inpatient.
Kopi-o license
Foreign drivers from Malaysia China etc.
Rushing for time
All a recipe for disaster.
All left to natural forces, it will be worse than countries with guns!

Don know if it is true that bus drivers not enough so offer very good overtime pay. Some are driving 7 days a week and more than 8 hours a day.

*Dollars & Sense*

My faith in the ministers is diminishing. The additional 20,000

COE(Certificate of Entitlement) does not encourage a congestion roads

lifestyle??? Only the multi-millionaires can afford to pay $100,000 for a COE

to let their luxury cars sit in the garage??? Ordinary people scramble to

obtain COEs because they either need a car or prefer not to use public

transport??? So, once again, it seems that the additional COEs do not benefit

the general roads car-lite but rather cater to ministers' families??? Are we

correct in this assumption??? Or was it the 20,000 additional COES

was to placate the public as the $100K is here to stay so as to secure

votes at the expense of fucking up the fucking roads??? Its the usage

not ownership??? As for most, when people pay $100K COES, they tend

to utilise the vehicle highly to make it worthwhile???

New condo prices have reached record highs, with OCR projects like Chuan

Park crossing $2700 PSF. New projects prices will continue to rise driven by

GLS land cost. Even the HDB market has surprised many with resale 3

room, 67 SQM unit selling for $450,000.

While old freehold units with larger floor sizes and located near upcoming

transformations, are not doing as well as new 99 years, they are highly

valuable are rare and hold value well over times.

Our public transport is cheap, clean and efficient.
Can't say about the Taxis or Grab.

Private transport primarily target on generating profit, whereas public transport is to provide accessible services for the entire community. The different roles each type of transport plays in our society.

.It's time to raise the minimum deposit for car purchases from 30% to 50%. Additionally, we should impose a 50% tax on foreigners and permanent residents to help reduce the prices of Certificates of Entitlement (COEs). The current competition for COEs and prices is unsustainable.

Where is the 'Singaporeans First' fella?

Anonymous said...

(Certificates of Entitlement) were intended to control the number of cars on the road, but they have now turned into a revenue-generating scheme.

BTOS are strictly for Singaporeans cos it is SUBSIDIZED [?]- according to them.
Landed homes are also strictly for Singaporeans[?]. Land problem[?]
COES function mainly as [?].

People are now purchasing cars for personal use while also using them for services like Grab. It's common to see vehicles with car hire decals, making it seem like a two-for-one deal. This trend reflects the growing demand for flexible transportation solutions.

When it comes to $$$, people will sometimes fock one another for it even the government to its people. Money plays a significant role to shape the relationship between the government and its citizens. Governments often make revenue to fund public services, infrastructure, and social programs. However, the way money is managed and distributed can lead to tension and conflict.

At times, citizens may feel that the government prioritizes financial gain over the people's welfare, leading to anger and distrust. Governments may find themselves , trying to balance their budgets while also meeting the needs of its citizens..

These must be considered when working on the role of money in governance and its effects on everyday life.
