Suggestions are not welcomed

I wish Singaporeans to be more open to new ideas. They should be comfortable about interacting with other people who gives suggestions.

Why are Singaporeans so afraid of new ideas? How can they be overcomed? You can read my views in

Mr Tan,

In Singapore, as far as I know, you are now the only person of some stature (CEO, ex CEO, senior civil servant, etc) who blog and has many public views and suggestions. The other person is Ngiam Tong Dow, but he never blog.
So among the more notable people (exclude politicians), it seems few wants to speak out or offer suggestions publicly. Is this another negative uniquely Singapore?
Anyway keep it up and don't be discouraged. A mile begins with many small steps.

Dear Kin Lian,

This is my personal view. Most people listen to the suggestion of those with financial power and authority.

My observation seems to show suggestions and ideas make by people of power and authority were already made by the "apeks" and "Ah Sohs" in the coffee shops and wet market. But most people listen to suggestions of those in power and authority.
