Misplaced trust in the system

Dear Mr. Tan,

May I know if you were elected president, would you be able to set up a board of inquiry into the many different cases where innocent consumers lost money because they trusted the system too much?

- true spa subtle senses wax in the city wellness village naughty by nature etc
- land banking
- minibonds
- teachers who have to pay liquidated damages for failing their practicums

I hope you will expose the many injustices in Singapore.

I do not know if this is possible, but I will give it some thought.

Don't forget the insurance salesmen who dump tons of useless whole life and endowment products on consumers that today they are still under insured. Many consumers still have no idea that they have been scammed by the insurance companies and the salesmen until many years later when it is too late.

Singapore has changed so much that we have come to trust only ourselves, casting a wary and suspicious eye at the Govt, our bankers, doctors, businessmen and even our employees and maids. There is no system to rely on, truly on our own. Money is really the root of all evil, even the Govt is evil.

Mr Tan,

Even though it will be good to preach "righting the wrong, injustices.. etc etc" while campaigning.

I do not think that should be the main focus.

Take WP for example, they, unlike other parties, never keep scolding the PAP, etc etc.. Keep talking about values, responsibility, civility, etc etc (Pritam Singh kept harping on these) This move addresses the overall crowd.. who are generally happy (might have 1 or 2 grumbles) but still quite satisfied with the govt (of course, PAP did use fear tactic at the beginning, but PM Lee did an emotional plea @ clark quay which was convincing and appealing)

It's almost like a job interview, Value add instead of keep picking on the current state of affairs - I feel that you should hire a PR expert, professional one - like those that hopeful candidates hire in USA presidency.. (abit random - Tin Pei Ling should just bun up her hair - makes her look more serious, Benjamin Phwee from SDP running in Bishan should ditch his rings as they look intimidating and he looks like a "loanshark") These are just some examples that comes off my head.

Focus on the value-adding, use tested and proven campaigns from other countries like Obama, or countries that resembles Singapore.

My 2 cents' worth. Hope this contributes a little.

Regards,

Siyu
