Depends on which country the airline is flying out of.
In Yangon, Mynamar, Tiger Air, now Scoot Air, staff went round the airport searching for us, we got the departure time wrong because of time difference.
Upon boarding the plane took off immediately.
A friend missed a Tiger Air flight at Changi, also wrong timing, the plane left right on schedule, leaving him behind.
SEA countries have service obligation ingrained in them to serve customers, Singapore is the exception, either take it or leave it.
