Strange that iras forced rental income to be equally split among joint owners. Up till 2017 when my wife & I still had a rental apartment, I was able to put all the rental income under my name as I was unemployed. This reduced the taxes as the rental income won't be subjected to my wife's higher tax rate. I remember we could split the rental income however we wanted it -- 50:50 or 100:0 or 70:30 etc etc.

These people are there to do a job whether its tax department-to earn money. Well, I hate to break it to you, they are not there for you and me or the country. They may have the best infrastructures, But the paperwork required for these government agencies trample on our daily lives.
Only NTUC supermarket realizes . Lucky draw tickets just fill in your names from IC and phone number. Well done NTUC.
