I agree with this approach to make Singapore car-lite and create more space for cycling and walking.
I suggest that the government should build tunnels for walking, using the low cost tunneling method developed by Elon Musk's Boring Company.
The cost of the tunnel is SGD $10 million per km. The tunnels are free from the sun and rain.
More people will be willing to walk long distance in the underground tunnels.

Domino effect- If more people change behaviour to walk or take public transport, there will be more room for busses, taxis and grab to move quickly. Cost-effectively more public transport can run more frequently.
