The cost of living is so high here,
that it is not worth the effort and time to eat out. The food stallholder resorts to dishing out smaller portions, or ommitting some important ingredients, but charge the same price to cut his costs, with the end result the dish does taste the same as before.
Verdict: The food in Singapore foodcourts and hawker centres are getting lousier by the year.

This is an indirect way of price increase without increasing the price. The vegetable packaging in NTUC "fairprice" are also getting smaller recently if you have paid attention.

Can't agree more, the food are not as tasty as before. A lot of the hawker stalls are run by PRCs nowadays. Could this be one of the reasons?
