SIA website

I wanted to book an air ticket to Kuala Lumpur. I went to SIA website. The website hang during the booking. I tried a few times but could not get it to work. I searched the website for a hotline number. I could not find it. I spent half an hour trying to make a booking. Finally, I gave up and move to another airline.

Tan Kin Lian said...: I went to JetStar website and completed the booking. It was troublesome, but not as bad as SIA.

I hope that airlines simplify their online bookings. They give too many options that distract the customers, and when their website hangs (which frequently happens), the customer waste much time.; July 02, 2011 9:17 AM

SIA seems to be living on past glories, beautiful cabin girl crews
and up to date gadgets on board are not the only hallmark of service of excellence. It's the whole package that counts, and that include Technology competence too.
Someone should give a kick in the butts for the presiding CEO, and update him on keeping up with this Technology Age, rather than just sticking to the time tested strategy, banking on the soft and seductive image of the "Singapore Girl".

dcan said...: ima be a contrarian SIA supporter. During the Iceland volcano in 2010 April, none of SQ passengers are left stranded in the airport of Schiphol, Amsterdam. They are given transport and accomodation right away. My dad and I flew KLM cos it was cheap...what a regret. We went to their counter, and they just shrug their shoulders. No compensation or backup plan. They did refund us after 2 months...but never pay up for our loss in hotel reservations. Pay higher for SQ, but u have REAL insurance. I have just visited the www.singaporeair.com and the "contact us" link is clearly available at the bottom of the homepage.

I even tried "Hotline" "Call Center" and "Contact" at the search box, and could not find the page.; July 03, 2011 4:47 PM
Anonymous said...: I have booked (ot tried booking) enough flights via Qatar, Emirates, Etihad, BA, Air France, KLM, Iberia, MAS, Thai, JAL, Aer Lingus, Vueling, NWA (now Delta), Qantas, Finnish Air, and some others, all online. Singaporeair.com ranks in the top three, ANYTIME.

Contact us is found either at the top or at the bottom of the organizaion's page, albeit small, in most cases. For obvious reasons.

We really must be more objective and be willing to compliment our own homegrown companies which have done reasonably well. To have foreigners do it more often than us really makes me wonder why? Let's not be too overly spoilt, as we are viewed sometimes.; July 08, 2011 2:54 PM
