I asked this question in the Wisdom of the Crowd - Do you agree with the stand of the Singapore Government on the HSR and water issues raised by Malaysia?
Here are the responses:
46% - We should adopt a more flexible approach
22% - The hard line approach will have serious repercussions.
20% - We should accommodate their request to build long term trust and relationship.
12% - We have to stick to agreement.

Our Govt has too free a hand in handling issues on home ground without opposition, but they apply the same high handed method in regard to countries outside, particularly to Malaysia.
Laws are dead inventions but human relations is alive and real.
Agree that we should be fairer to Malaysia in the water issue, maybe Singapore inflating the cost of treating water, as PUB charges us a very high fee for water SS in Singapore. What a big deal paying a few more cents for raw water? PUB still make money, issit it? In fact making too much money.
Both GIC and Temasek Holdings lost billions of our CPF money in botched investments abroad, no big deal writing off more, here a few hundred million if the HSR is cancelled, God's sake, this is a God sent chance to create goodwill. Govt has to pay in picking the wrong horse in Najib, as usual always very short sighted in international politics.
Whether at home or abroad, our Govt talks nothing but money.
