Best premium rates

Dear Sir,

I have been reading your blog for sometime now. I was keen to check with you about how NTUC income policies fare as against other insurance companies for life and medical insurance. Does it make sense to invest in NTUC Income policies as against the MNC's?

REPLY

I suggest that you call the insurance companies directly and ask for their quotes for Term insurance and Medical Insurance.

You can find their contact numbers in this FAQ:

Perhaps, you can share the results of your investigation with me?

Never invest in any traditional insurance policy from any company. They are all poor investment instruments; whether endowment, single or regular or some run down
endowments disguised as revosave or
prucash or premier saver.
But if you need protection just buy term. There a few companies which can cater to your needs in most efficient way and at low cost. Family insurance from NTUC; if you wish to insure till 100 years old with limited term premium (term) get them from AXA.
For medical H&S it is either NTUC or Aviva.
Most important of all is to get an HONEST AND COMPETENT adviser and not a insurance salesman.Out there is a mine field, any wrong step you are finished .Begin well and it will end well.
If you can't think of anyone you may get one at www.fpas.org.sg

Hi Zhumeng, thanks for your recommendation of the site at www.fpas.org.sg
I discovered a treasure trove of information about financial planning.
Although I am not in the financial business I am thinking of educating myself so that i will not be as naive as before to believe my insurance agent. Now i know what to expect of my agent or any agents when i encounter them.
You don't know what you are missing. Your perspective of your insurance agents will change and i bet you will find your agents "unprofessional" after you have read. You will be wondering why your agents never disclosed all those important information to you. You will also be wondering whether you have been sold the correct products and the correct amount.
I am reviewing my portfolio. I am getting this Association to recommend me a financial planner.
I strongly recommend that you readers and visitors to Mr. Tan's blog to visit the Financial Planning Association of Singapore website and i assure you when you visit Mr. Tan's blog you can follow the postings better.
Don't get me wrong. I am like one of you who is interested in my own personal finance.
