Election into public office

I have received 716 signatures asking me to stand for election for public office.

The distribution of the replies are:
> Prefer TKL for elected president 26%
> Prefer TKL for member of parliament 14%
> Prefer TKL for both or either 60%

Several people have asked for a new petition form that allows them to leave out some of the particulars. Here is the new form:

I should have 2 other names.

I haven't send them over yet.

Don't be disappointed with the number of names.

Singaporeans are pathetic...

Mr. Tan,

Serving in the public office - whether it is President, MP or grassroot leader, is a calling. If you feel you have a calling, you should go for it. If there is no calling, you should not.

From these numerious petitions you have put up, I guess you are unsure of your calling. Although this is not meant to be personal, so far the manner which you are engaging public issues are rather confrontational and aggressive. I personally will not like an MP or President to be confrontational in nature.
