Petition to the Prime Minister

I have sent the Petition to the Prime Minister. It is dated 26 August and contained 777 signatures. The Prime Minister's Office has acknowledged the letter and sent it to the Monetary Authority of Singapore. I hope that they will pay attention to the Prime Minister's request.

Tan Kin Lian said...: Some people may be disappointed that the hard work is wasted, if the Prime Minister does not care.

They should look at a different angle. 777 people have studied the issue and signed the Petition. These people now know the issues more clearly.

We should be patient and continue to find ways to put our views across. We should not expect miracle results.

The bigger goal should be to change how things are run in Singapore. Every situation, such as this, add to the process of change.; August 27, 2009 8:01 AM

The whole problem is PM Lee most likely will not pass any comment. He always avoid this problem.

Friday is D-Day for GE investors

The Straits Times and the New Paper have been quick to report new development. Is this the Govt way of pressurizing FIs to do the same as GE?

Anonymous said...: Even though I signed the petition, I do not harbour hopes on getting my money back. It is useless to complain to your MPs even though your MP is PM Lee. Nobody can make decisions, the decision lies only with old man Lee. He says no compemsation is really no compensation. MAS has to feign "Tidak Apa" as they are powerless to take more concrete action. They are embarassed by the whole episode but they are controlled by someone above their rank.
The body language shown by PM Lee (by passing the petition to MAS) can be read that he is powerless to help us.
It's good that FISCA is established as an attempt to give independent advice to consumers, as our CASE in Singapore also have its hands and feet bound tightly by our political establishment. Anonymous said...: Fellow citizens, sending petition to PM is one way of expressing our feeling. Even if government does not do anything, do not feel discouraged about it.
