Dependent grown children

Is this a healthy trend? Read this article.

In general, I don't think parents want dependent children. Likewise, children don't want to be dependent on parents.

And yes, good money habits will reduce dependency.

I believe one of the cause is that jobs are not so easy to come by anymore. I really doubt if anybody can claim to have a "secure" job after the age of 35.

But very few people have made or accepted this new reality. So they plan their finances as though they will have a job income till retirement age (of 62 ??). What's worse, they assume their peak income years will be in their 40's and 50's.

But in reality, most careers and income will peak between 35-40 years old.

Just around the same time parents get old and require medical care. And children require tuition because our first class public education system is really a first class private tuition system.
