Singapore GDP

Read this article.

My view
In the past, Singaporeans rejoice when the economy performs well. The reaction now is quite different - people do not feel that the GDP growth has benefited them.

Agree ! Interesting that this article is from our neighour. No, I am not questioning the sincerity or accuracy of the anaylsis. I am instead, wondering why ST has no write up, either by the editors or their journalists on this perception.

And yes, I am sure the only segments of the population that would rejoice are those in the Civil Service and Government.

Are we better off with the higher GDP?
Answer, refer to the few only:
- interest rate for our saving account is still less than 1%.
- people at age above 45 years old is still difficult to secure a permanent job.
- cost of living go higher and higher.
