Rush hour on the MRT train

I took the MRT train to town at 8 am this morning (i.e. rush hour). The train comes at 2 minutes interval. The train was crowded, but not packed. I had to stand all the way, but it is fairly comfortable. I like our MRT train, even during rush hour.

I am not sure which direction you took but for sure, it's really packed from Ang Mo Kio to Raffles Place direction. As for Ang Mo Kio to Jurong East direction, it is not as packed but once it reaches Woodlands and beyond, it's packed like sardines.

I took the MRT train from Ang Mo Kio to Raffles Place, going south. It was crowded but not packed.

I miss the first train. The display showed the next train would arrive in 2 minutes.

I do agree with you the approach to solving traffic congestion is to encourage users to take public transport. The problem now is to persuade and convince them plus at the same time improve the current system to make it more "attractive".

The PTC should work with SMRT and SBS Transit to make this happen at the same time not jeopardising profits and making sure shareholders + the public are taken into consideration. It's not easy and the road ahead is a long one I believe.
